My stomach problems have almost completely subsided, alhamdulillah. I now have an annoying back ache resulting from an awkward position I inadvertantly slept in last night. It’s not as bad as a real back ache would be, I guess. Annoying, never-the-less. Old age is funny, it comes with all kinds of weird stuff. I never struggled with my weight before, not that I’m fat now, but I can’t seem to shrug off the extra pounds like I used to be able to before. Maybe it is the age thing. I’m only 30 but that’s older than I’ve ever been before. And I feel old as hell. Maybe its the married life and parenthood that does this to you. I dunno.

I spent the day today sick and at home. I’d just gone in to the doctor yesterday for some persistent stomach problems. Last night and this morning wasn’t very pleasant: many trips to the bathroom. I guess I do need to watch what I eat and get some checkups done to see why am I gaining weight like never before. Could it have somthing to do with my not playing any sports these days? Or could it just be age? I did get a lot of rest today and look forward to a nice weekend, inshaAllah. It’s getting colder everyday now that its almost October. Where did the summer go?

A while ago, I came accross Holo Touch, Inc.’s products. Could this be real?! A hologram of a cell phone that you can use to dial a number, instead of dialing the number on a real cell phone while driving a car. It may be much safer to use a Holo Touch if you are making a call while on the freeway. Or how about a computer screen which surgeons can use to view a video of the insides of a patient during an operation. It would definitely be extremely convenient to have something right there which the surgeon can look at instead of having to turn to a monitor behind or above him or her. I think there can be a million uses for such products in today’s world. What do you think?

It’s raining really hard here today. Its weird how the cold weather creeps up on you. Only a couple of weeks ago it was so warm here that we still had the AC running. Today it was cold enough that people came to work wearing light jackets and sweaters…It’s always kinda sad when the summer is over and leaves begin to fall from the trees. But we had a wonderful summer this year, alhamdulillah. I got to play lots of outdoor tennis and cricket. InshaAllah, I’ll be joining the indoor tennis league for the fall. I haven’t played tennis in over a month now, I think. I have forgotten how to play, I bet Badminton starts on the wednesday after Thanksgiving (that’s Canadian Thanksgiving which falls on the 2nd Monday of October – unlike the American Thanksgiving which is on the 4th Thursday of November).
So what the heck have I been doing ever since the summer tennis league games came to an end over a month ago? Well, apart from a weekly dose of cricket – almost every week – I have not been very active in the sporting scene. I have been known to not work out or exercise at all. Instead, I’ve been engaged in working on the computer for long hours and – every now and then – playing games on the xbox! Bad Umair, indeed!

What’s up with people ordering a toasted bagel with cream cheese at the Tim Horton’s drive through in the morning when some people are trying to get to work and stop for a quick large-double-double? It really pisses me off to have to wait foe 11 minutes in the queue just because someone was so inconsiderate they decided to buy sandwiches for all their kids in the drive through! Argh!
