PHPWebsite and MySQL Database
Dec 31st, 2003
So its the final hours of 2003 and I’m waiting for a stinking MySQL Database to finish getting created! I am installing phpwebsite, a web site content management system, on the new Ali Zafar fan site that I’ve just started and I’ve been waiting for what seems like an eternity for the database to be created. While checking on my webhost’s site about how long it takes for a database to be created, I found this comment by someone who’d waited like I’m waiting now:
Top ten things to do while your database is being created:
————————————————————-
10. Create another database
9. Get married and have kids
8. Channel Surf
7. Start another long compile
6. Sing “Batman, nana nana, Batman….” over and over again
5. Get a life, stop working on websites, and do something worthwhile
4. Play a game
3. Read a book
2. Start building a model out of match sticks
1. Annoy your co-workers, friends, parents, and boss

There is nothing quite as good as a sweet grapefruit served cold with salt and pepper. I am obsessed with grapefruit these days for some reason. I am sure that I have an addictive personality. If its not one thing its another, it seems. Being obsessed with something as healthy as a grapefruit should be a good thing…the only problem is I devour the delicious thing with more than a touch of salt and black pepper. And, boy, is it ever yummy. I didn’t always use to like grapefruit, but it has been a few years that I’ve really fallen in love with this fruit and I’ve always had it with salt and pepper. I can’t seem to be able to drink grapefruit juice though. It’s not the same at all. If you haven’t tried a grapefruit with salt and pepper, I do recommend it highly. Give it a try. Cut it as shown in the picture and eat it with a spoon. It is a bit messy, so be prepared, but its well worth the effort. I like other citrus fruit as well, but I haven’t found anything comparable to a good grapefruit. When the tangerines were in season in late summer, I really liked the tangerines imported from either Portugal or Morocco. There are still some places selling them this late in the year (imported from South America, I suspect where its summer time now that its winter here) but they don’t even come close to the ones from the Mediterranean region.
