Time to Think
Jan 27th, 2004
Try as I may, yet I can’t recall what I was watching on TV last night that forced me to think how strange it is that people around the world sort of live in their own little spheres. The more I thought about it, the more I came to realize how so many communities are living their own lives everywhere around the world, oblivious to the rest of the world. They are all centers of their own universes. I think about this a lot, actually. Don’t you?
Do you not find it interesting how a small family lives in an apartment and then saves enough money to buy a house looking for something ‘permanent’? Do you not find it strange that they seem to think they will live in that house forever and ever? Do you not find it amazing that they get all kinds of furniture and appliances to furnish their seemingly permanent accomodations? Do you not find it naive that they plan for their children – even the ones they haven’t had yet – and their education and enough place for them to play? Isn’t it peculiar that thy do they not think maybe we should slow down a bit and think about our real purpose in life? Sure, we are to raise families and provide for them. But is that it? Even animals do that! Surely, there’s more purpose to this ‘intelligent’ life than just being born, growing up, getting education, earning a living, raising a family, growing old and dying. Don’t you think that we ought to find the purpose of our existence and fulfill it? What if we die not knowing what we were sent here to do? What if we don’t recognize our Creator and leave without making Him happy?
We have an instinct in us that makes us want to know things. We want to know what’s around us, to various degrees. Some people want to know what’s going on in the world politics while others want to know what’s on sale at the local mall. We all have some desire to know stuff. That desire is in us for a reason. We need to stop for a moment and think about the purpose of each of our lives. Ponder upon the greatness of the universe and our place in it. God, the Creator of multitudes of lives, all within their own spheres and intertwined in many ways yet different and separated, is truly great. SubhanAllahi waAlhamdulillahi walailaha illallaau waAllahu Akbar. Glory to God, All Praise be to God, there is no God but Him and God is Great.
We’ve got more chilling weather and snow fall. Its hard work, shovelling snow in the morning when its really cold out. The car takes a long time to heat up. The drive to work is cautious and slow. InshaAllah it won’t get any colder and spring will be early this year. Last year we had an ice storm in late March, take a peek at some pictures from then!

It seems as though I’ve been blogging for years. I started blogging almost two years ago and I’ve got 700 entries and 700 comments so far! It seems like its somewhat of a milestone. I started blogging using
