Seinfeld DVDs

The Seinfeld DVDs are out: the 1st, 2nd and 3rd season (DVD sets Seinfeld: Vol. 1 (Seasons 1 and 2) and Seinfeld: Vol. 2 (Season 3)) will cost about a hundred bucks. I think its a bargain. I think Seinfeld is one of the best TV shows of our time (maybe of all time). And like someone said, What do you mean its a show about NOTHING? I think that Seinfeld is about EVERYTHING! I think if you can think of an item that can remotely be made into a show (for instance anything from linguistics to dietetics, from tennis to jogging, from Newman to Babu, from politics to poetry – absolutely any topic under the sun!) there is a Seinfeld episode about it. As a matter of fact, there is a Seinfeld episode about some not so easily thinkable items.

First Snow of the Season

a view right outside our townhouse today
We were expecting it and it did happen. This year the snow has been a little bit earlier than the past two years, as far as I can remember. I think last year, we didn’t get the first snow until Christmas Eve (I particularly remember that because it was Christmas Eve). Still, it could’ve been the year before last. For the first time since I’ve been in Canada, I’m thinking about Snow Tires for the car. I haven’t needed them so far, alhamdulillah. But since we have a small Toyota, it might be a good idea. It’s this time of the year when you wish you’d bought a bigger car instead, nevermind the gas mileage. Jeeps with four wheel drive capability seem very inviting indeed. Another popular item in this cold part of the planet is the remote starter that you can start your vehicle with without having to go out in the snowy cold (from a reasonable distance). It really does come in quite handy when its cold out and I’ve used it every winter since we got the car. However it has decided to quit working this year. I’ve got to get it fixed soon, inshaAllah. Compare the picture in this post with another one of the same location I posted less than a month ago here.
