I love the beautiful sky in Calgary. There is something about it that’s fascinating…for instance, take a look at the photo taken by Sadia below, showing the incredible colours of the Maghrib Sky. Although this is not an everyday occurance here, its still a good example of what one can see here.

After a couple of weeks of good weather, we woke up to a couple of inches of snow on the ground. It’s beautiful, mashaAllah! I’ve started taking weekly pictures to post on this blog. This is in addition to the photos on the photo gallery, which will contain series of photos, for instance from a trip somewhere.
Everywhere you go these days, there are lights and decorations, in preparation for Christmas. We saw the decorations change quickly for each of the holidays: Halloween’s pumpkins and scary looking creatures followed by Christmas lights and trees. Thanksgiving was not as big here as it is in the US (Canadian Thanksgiving is in October, not November).
