No to 2-way stop signs! Stop signs are not only dangerous they are very annoying. Specially the half-assed two way ones. I mean what the heck is wrong with the person who designed this piece of crap? We’ve got a really busy intersection near our house that leads out of the neighborhood – you gotta go through it to go to work or to the mosque or to the grocery store. It is only really busy when you’re in a hurry, of course. And when you finally get a chance to go through, it is still a gamble. Drivers vary in how they approach intersections, but there is no shortage of stupid people, as we all know. Yes to Roundabouts! The solution is very simple: roundabouts! We’ve seen a few of them being introduced nearby and it has really resolved some serious traffic congestion issues. I say its time city, provincial/state governments get rid of the deadly stop signs and replace them with safer roundabouts. And what exactly is a roundabout? Why is it a better choice? It’s -24 degrees celcius in Calgary today. And does feel like -37 degrees out there. Looking from the windows though, its so deceivingly beautiful with the sun shining brightly. It would be quite a bit colder, I’d imagine, without the sunlight. I guess we can’t complain because we’ve got the mildest winter since I’ve been in Canada. We’ve had gorgeous weather almost all of December and January. And look at the +12 degrees on Monday! How about that! The bad thing about good weather is you get spoiled. The good thing about bad weather is you really appreciate the good weather days. Enough abou the weather…my poor computer needs a couple of gigabytes of memory to function properly.

With the dry weather in Calgary, I’m experiencing so much static electricity shocklets that I cringe before touching any metallic object. Like a door knob or something. I have never experienced this before. And when I asked others, they say that I’m not the only one. Its staticky for everyone. The weather has been unusual here thus far: warmer than usual, but dry nevertheless. It did rain much more than it usually does early in the summer last year. Despite the good weather, I have yet to start using mountain bike. It is supposed to get really cold by the end of the week.
