Java & James Gosling

I attended the Sun Java Developer Days conference today and got to see James Gosling, the father of Java! Met lots of good folks, learned lots of new tricks, got free stuff (food, CDs, T-shirt, toys etc.) and had loads of fun. If they come to your city, I recommend attending – even if you don’t already develop in Java, they might convince you to start considering it!

Mountain Biking

So I took my mountain bike for a ride today. For the first time. Finally, the weather is nice enough for outdoor sports activities. For a day or two anyway – we’re supposed to start getting some snow tomorrow. I’m so out of shape, its not even funny. But that’s another post. I’ll post some photos as soon as I can. I found out about Pixelpost from a friend and I think I will start using it instead of the gallery, which is much more than what I actually need.

Reading Passion

I enjoyed The Fortunate Pilgrim tremendously. I am glad I took the time to read one of the first novels the Mario Puzo wrote. I was so pumped that I also got Omerta. I also started reading When She Was Queen by M.G. Vassanji – whom I have not read before. So it looks like I’ve found my long lost passion for reading fiction once more. But I’m not sure if its here to stay or if it will wear off with time or when I pick up a few boring books in a row.
