Just stumbled upon this incredibly talented mathemagician’s show on the IT Conversations podcast. Arthur Benjamin has an uncanny ability to work with numbers, better than anyone I have come across. In addition, he’s very funny and has a great presentation style. Listen to the podcast by downloading the MP3 file here – he explains in this audio lecture how he does what he does. Below is the a video clip of a show he did at TED.

Here’s Arthur Benjamin’s must read book in which he explains how he does what he does in detail. In his lecture he said that he believed his math skills can be learned by anyone with lots of practice and are not some inherent talent that he’s born with.

Spain defeated Germany 1-0 in an exciting finish to the UEFA Euro 2008 tournament. Spain dominated the game throughout and Germany didn’t seem to stand a chance at all. What a sport soccer is!

Canadians have started protesting the rip-off pricing structure and the three year contract. I signed it and, as much as I want me an iPhone, I ain’t about to sign a 3 year contract at 60 bucks a month for such limited service (150 minutes of voice, 75 text messages and 400 MB of data). Palluxo has the details broken down. There’s even a $6.95 access fee. If you believe that their pricing it ridiculous, let Rogers/Fido know. Here’s my two cents, simple and straight to the point:

Hello Rogers/Fido,
Just because you have no competition in this country now, doesn’t mean that your customers are stupid. Be a responsible business and stop taking advantage of the customers.

I refuse to get an iPhone with the current pricing structure and contract. No way Jose!
