The month of Zul Hijjah is fast approaching and people from all over the world are starting to leave for their once in a life time pilgrimage to the cities of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia for the Hajj. It is an amazing act of worship where people from all walks of life, all cultures and backgrounds gather together in harmony to perform the Hajj all at once. We’re talking millions of people from all over the world. Its a logistical feat to have so many people together in one place. Want to learn more about the Hajj? Check out the Hajj Information Center at Islamicity.ca. Want to see pictures from Hajj, take a look at these albums: Medina 1427 and Mecca 1427.

I’ve blogged about Open Office as a very attractive alternative to MS Office and usually recommend it to friends who don’t have MS Office to use at home. Now there is even a light version! Download a light version of Open Office suite, called Go-OO, if you don’t have MS Office or need it on an extra computer. Perfect for spare or student laptops.
