Newseum: Newspaper Headlines from all over the world!

A friend of mine just sent me this web site: Newseum, which offers newspaper headlines from all over the planet, among other things! This is one of the most interesting sites I have seen. Just put your mouse on a city anywhere in the world and the newspaper headlines pop up… Double click and the page gets larger…Newspapers are not just in English but all kinds of languages. This is different from Google News or other such site, which has online news from all over the world. This is different, these are actual print papers whose front pages have been scanned. Just imagine having a resource like this 10 years ago at your fingertips. It would’ve been unthinkable. Enjoy the fruits of the Internet age.

Dan Falk’s come up with a masterpiece on a book about Time. Anyone interested in trying to understand the nature of time (which should be every concious human being) should read this book. Dan Falk’s talented writing is perfect for tackling such an abstract and intangible concept as Time. The book is structured so it takes one from the basic philosophical question about the very nature of time to the details of how the concept of time is around the world’s cultures and how it has evolved over centuries. There are fascinating accounts of incredible inventions from history to try and measure time in years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds. There’s even a chapter about time travel…simply delicious!

I’ve decided to take the plunge and depart from the good old trusty Windows XP to the new and exciting Windows 7 Release Candidate, based on rave reviews from multiple sources. I’m downloading it right now – its a one year beta so I’ll need to purchase it next year. Here’s where you can download it from the Microsoft Web Site.
