I finally got my invite from Google to the preview version of Google Wave. Google Wave is a new real-time communication and collaboration platform. Its brilliant not only because its from Google, but because it makes use of the browser like never before and kind of combines other Google products into one seamless experience. I believe its going to be as revolutionary as email must have been when it first came out. A scary thought came to my head just now: maybe Google had this vision when it first created the other products it now integrates into Wave. What if wave is only just a little piece of Google’s grand plan to take over our lives? Maybe its the cold weather talking. Google Wave is perfect for trying out on cold, nasty bad weather days such as today.

Farsi gems from director Majid Majidi

Majid Majidi is an Iranian director with an exceptional gift. I immediately fell in love with the first movie I watched that he’d directed, ‘The Color of Paradise’. This director’s amazing talent where he captures the intricacies of real life with such artistic detail, its breathtaking. The newest gem that I just discovered recently is an Oscar nominated tale of a brother/sister duo who struggle with their poverty, spun around the loss of the sister’s shoes. The heartbreaking portrayal of the love between a brother and sister while understanding the family’s financial situation is remarkable. How they got the kids to act so naturally is beyond me. How they filmed each scene with such care is a tribute to the very art of film making.
